About:
Okay this is my current research. I work in the Battat Lab working on a prototype of a liquid argon detector's readout system. This involves a ton of different types of work. I have learned how to solder, worked with the machine shop, designed circuit boards, worked in vacuum, done electrical testing, and done programming. I really like the variety of work and that I feel like I am constantly learning new skills. I also find neutrinos fascinating and get excited about the idea that my work will eventually be used to build a neutrino detector and maybe get some answers about our universe. I also really enjoy our lab environment and working with younger students.
How did you find out about this opportunity?
James asked me if I would be interested in working in his lab when I signed on to be the post-baccalaureate assistant for physics but I had told him before that I was interested in studying neutrinos and doing experimental physics. When it comes to doing physics at Wellesley, the best place to start is just by talking to professors. Even if they don't have a spot open in their lab, they know that you are interested and can point you in the right direction for other opportunities.
